The Silver Acorn Tree is my new picture book about two climate refugee bears. Ice bear mum and baby get stranded on the tree bears’ beach after all the ice of their home island melted, but the tree bears don’t welcome them. They stay isolated for months in their small corner of the beach until a tall silver tree grows out of an acorn they sowed and makes the tree bears very curious. I am currently looking for a home for this story.
It was early spring when two white bears walked into the woods. “What kind of weird bears look so pale? They even smell so different!” whispered the tree bears. “We are ice bears from ice island. All the ice on the island melted and we drifted away,” said the mummy ice bear and the baby ice bear.
